Soccer is a world-wide passion that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy, but sadly this isn't the reality. Here in America, we have tons of quality soccer equipment in a surplus, plenty of which is sitting in our closets because we've outgrown them. Wouldn't it be great if we could spread some of the joy of soccer?
This soccer season at CSSC, we can. A member of troop 967 of the Boy Scouts of America is collecting soccer equipment, and delivering it to an elementary school in Bolivia. Many families have equipment that they've outgrown or stopped using; if you have any such equipment, don't let it go unused. On 3/22, 4/5, and 4/26, there will be a booth at Veterans Park during game hours to collect any donations you'd like to make.
Donations will be accepted in the form of gently used or new soccer gear (e.g., cleats, shinguards, shorts, socks). Monetary donations, if provided, will be used to purchase whatever other gear is needed to outfit the team in Bolivia. Our participation in this effort can really make a difference in the lives of these kids.
****The eagle scout service project proposal has been reviewed and approved by troop 967 leaders, the troop comity, and the district. Part of that review involves making sure that all donations and fundraising activities involved in the project meet the requirements of the Boy Scouts of America. Thus, ALL donations will go directly to the elementary school kids in Bolivia. There will be no product sales.****
